| This was built as a 50ft. composite car on 20/06/1913 at Petone. It was fitted out for 15 x First Class and 28 x Second Class on 12/10/1935 and 63 x Second Class passengers on 14/10/1944. | |
| It was written off in Wellington on 06/11/1971 and converted to EA 3961 for the Way & Works. At some stage it was renumbered EA 1628 and obtained by Eric Burns in October 1981. | |
| This car is presently used as a timber and boiler tube store and is awaiting a rebuild. |
